My Fountain Pen Is Leaking...

Fountain pens are generally constructed the same way, ink flow is regulated by a series of channels to which the flow of ink reaches the nib in a controlled manner. Thankfully modern writing instruments are manufactured to high standards and regular maintenance and normal use will mean a pen for life irrelevant of cost. Webster's Recommend the following steps before returning the pen to one of our stores or via a repair department.

a) Visually check the condition of the nib; does the nib have any damage? If so a new nib can be ordered via our customer services department.

b) Does the pen leak around the convertor or cartridge? try cleaning the pen including the barrel in cold water and drying thoroughly.

c) When i remove the cap there's ink. Try washing the cap and nib in cold water and drying thoroughly, sometimes ink spills into the cap in transit and when the cap is fitted back onto the pen, ink meets internally pulling more ink into the cap.

top tip is always to wash your pen in cold water every 3 months and dry thoroughly. Never use bottled ink over 3 years old once opened.
